One documentation hub for all your apps
AboutTheApp is one documentation hub for all the apps you build. For each app you can keep links to documentation, third-party services and source code, versions and components. The goal is to have everything about an app clearly available in one place, ideally right inside the app.
App and version overview
The dashboard shows all your apps and their versions. Assign apps to customers and their environments to get an overview of deployed versions.

Links to documentation and tools
Add links to the tools and services related to each app such as a Confluence space, the app's GitHub repository, a Jira project or a Sentry project. Sort links into ready-made categories and for each link decide whether it's public or visible only to selected users or your team. Your documents aren't copied anywhere — AboutTheApp only shows where everything is and works as one big link manager for your apps.

Customers and deployments
Keep a customer directory and record the installations of your apps for each customer: environment, deployed version, URL and location. Links defined for the app can be customized for individual customers or environments.

Version history and release notes
For each app, keep a catalogue of released versions with release notes. For each version, decide whether it's public or available only to selected users or your team. Manage versions and installations by hand or record them automatically from your CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps and others) through the API.

In-app documentation
Integrate your app's details into the app itself with the <about-the-app> web component. In product materials or everyday communication, link to the hosted page aboutthe.app/:alias, where the alias is your own product identifier. A REST API is also available if you want to access the data your own way.

Private links and versions
Make private links and versions available only to selected users with an unlock code; members of your team always see them after signing in. You can set a code for the whole app, for a specific customer or for just one of their environments, so everyone sees only what concerns them.
